Argus Fire & Security Expands CapabilitiesARGUS Fire & Security Group recently announced it has expanded its range of fire protection products and services. One of the oldest and largest life safety and property protection service providers in the entire Gulf South region, the Company has been a member of The PELICAN Security Network since January, 2000. Moreover, ARGUS Fire & Security is distinguished as the only Louisiana-based company with three separate, fully-staffed, sales-and-service offices located in each of the three fastest growing metro areas in the State – Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans / Northshore.
Originally established in Lafayette, LA, ARGUS Fire & Security has earned a reputation as "the most trusted name in local security." This reputation should be further enhanced by the recent expansion of its operations to now include a broader level of "required / mandated" fire detection and fire suppression services which can now be offered its expansive base of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers. This expansion has been facilitated by the addition of two new Certified Fire Engineers – each with advanced fire protection technology and fire alarm system certifications from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET). These two long-time industry veterans are Gary L. Gutermuth and Michael K. Maggio.
A NICET Level III Certified Fire Engineer, Gutermuth has more than 20 years experience in advanced electronics and fire protection systems. Immediately prior to joining ARGUS Fire & Security, Gutermuth served as a Regional Service Specialist & Fire Engineer for Convergint Technologies, Inc., a nationwide systems integrator, building automation designer, and electronic fire and life safety services provider based in Chicago, IL. For more than 15 years before that, Gutermuth was President & General Manager of All Pro Fire & Security, LLC, a provider of residential and commercial security, fire alarm, access control and CCTV surveillance systems in Dallas, TX and Baton Rouge, LA. Certified in auto cad design, digital electronics, business server and computer systems, Gutermuth has also previously worked with Honeywell Security in the commercial electronics sector. A veteran of the United States Navy, Gutermuth served his country while rising to the rank of Communications Specialists with responsibility for ship navigation and communications systems, alarm systems, intercom and phone systems. A NICET Level IV Certified Fire Engineer, Maggio brings more than 15 years experience to ARGUS Fire & Security. Currently, Maggio serves as MMIS Systems Manager for Women's Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. He previously served as a Systems Engineer for Honeywell Security and as Operations Manager for Interface Security Systems in New Orleans, LA. Maggio began his career as a Systems Engineer with Concept Electronics and Custom Security Systems in Baton Rouge, LA. He went on to gain more than 15 years experience with ADT Security Services as an Alarm Technician, Senior Service & Installation Technician, Technical Analyst, Telecom Manager, Project Manager and Systems Manager. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in electrical and computer engineering, Maggio also has advanced certification in computer programming, information technology and software engineering. |
